Pilsner Lager Supports 20th Edition of Buganda Kingdom Masaza Cup


Pilsner Lager, a product of Uganda Breweries Limited, has announced its continued support for the Buganda Kingdom Masaza Cup tournament.

The announcement was made at a media launch held at Bulange Mengo.

Katikiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, praised Pilsner Lager for their ongoing support and encouraged the youth to make the most of the 20th edition of the tournament to develop their talents and compete at the national level.

“The Masaza Cup is an opportunity for talented youth to showcase their talent in football as well as fostering relevant cultural ties through sport within the country, he added.

The Masaza Cup aims to identify and promote young talent, preserve culture, and foster unity through sports and games.

This year’s tournament will feature 18 teams, each representing one of the 18 counties (masaza) within the Buganda Kingdom.

Speaking at the media launch, UBL Marketing Manager Matilda Babuleka emphasized the mutual interests between Pilsner Lager and Buganda Kingdom in creating a platform for talented youth to excel.

She noted that their continued support for the Masaza Cup aligns with their commitment to giving back to the communities they operate in through talent development and socio-economic impact.

The tournament will kick off with an opening match between Bulemezi and Bululii counties at Kasana Luweero grounds on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
