Two-time champions Makerere University Business School begin their campaign in this season’s Pepsi University Football League with a trip to Mbarara University of Science and Technology in the group F encounter
The two teams last met in 2017 with MUBS winning both home and away.
MUBS who won back to back league titles in 2014 and 2015 have struggled in recent years but Zinda is optimistic of a better season.
It’s true we have struggled for many seasons now, however we want to better our performance from last season, where we managed to reach the play offs and lost to Kampala University ,” Said Zinda
“We want to challenge for the title, we are capable of giving it a try and we will do exactly that.
We are at least in a good group in the league on paper but we shouldn’t take things for granted. We have to put up a good challenge to progress, Ali Zinda added
As for Mbarara , Kyagambidwa Muhammad would be hoping for a better start to the season with a revamped squad than his side have produced in the recent years.
I have heard about the previous records of the team, but that doesn’t count as per now.
It’s a new dawn for me and every coach would love to start the season with a win, and it explains why our match against MUBS will be tough,” Kyagambidwa Muhammad said.
“MUBS is a good side, a strong one and they have had good preparations
“However, we also want the points and I believe if we settle fast and stick to our game plan we will get something from the game. We do not want late struggles as it has been the norm in the past two or so seasons.
“This time around we want to be consistent on the pitch to stand a better chance of toping our group, added Kyagambidwa
