BUL FC head coach Abbey Kikomeko re-emphasized his season targets after his side’s one all draw with KCCA FC at the Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Friday evening.
He said all this in his post match press briefing;
“I would like to thank the boys for the fight because we conceded a goal but managed to equalize am happy for the point because we didn’t lose.” he started
“KCCA came into this game after winning against URA so they wanted the three points just like us who drew with Police unfortunately we go away with a point.”
“I have lost two points since I was at home but will fight and capitalize on what have got, am some how impressed with my side though wasn’t with how we missed some of our chances”
“Going forward I would like to put it out there that there is nothing we are fighting for apart from the trophy, it’s the target for both I and the institution(BUL).” Kikomeko concluded
Jerome Kirya scored BUL’s only goal of the game to grab a point for the Jinja side against a defiant Kampala City Council Authority side that looked comfortable.
Both goals were scored in the closing half, with Kirya’s coming in the 73rd minute canceling out substitute Ashraf Mugume’s header after a perfect cross from Saidi Mayanja ten minutes earlier with huge credit awarded to Derrick Nsibambi’s quick thinking from the quick throw in.
On the next match day, KCCA will host Kitara in Lugogo on the 27th September 2024 while BUL FC take a short trip to wankulukuku a day before.
Other games on the day saw URA achieve their first win of the season with a 1-0 win over Bright Stars through an Ivan Ahimbisibwe goal as Mbarara City played out a goalless draw with Police Football Club.
For Maroons, they lost at home to Wakiso Giants in five goal thriller edged 3-2 by the Purple Sharks thanks to goals from Marvin Oshaba, Herbert Assimwe and Kyeyune Tevin with Maroons’ goals coming in from Mujahid Ogama and new bee Ivan Asaba.
