Olympics: Uganda's boxing medal hopes shuttered as Shadir Musa gets eliminated by Madiev

Uganda Boxing team, The Bombers’ Captain Shadir Bwogi Musa has been eliminated from the 2020 Olympics Olympics.

Shadir Musa put up a spirited fight but lost to Georgia’s Madiev Eskerkhan at the Round of 16 elimination bouts played on Tuesday morning in the Men’s welterweight category at the Olympics games in Tokyo, Japan.

The Ugandan captain lost by split decision, losing 3-1 from a possible five.

The Judges scored the bout 29-27, 28-28, 26-30, 26-30 & 26-30 at the Kokugikan arena.

Shadir Musa’s exit means that Uganda’s hopes for a medal have had a sorrowful ending after all the first boxers that represented the nation at the games were eliminated.

Catherine Nanziri was defeated by Japanese Namiki Tsukimi in the Women’s Flyweight category, while David Ssemujju was dispatched by Nemouchi Younes from Morocco in the Middleweight just yesterday.
