NBA: StarTimes brings another exciting experience closer to your home

Uganda’s largest Pay TV Company StarTimes has added yet another exciting product to its already existing big sports broadcasting list.

With exclusive rights to the broadcast of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, the Emirates FA Cup, UEFA Europa League, the Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, StarTimes has added the NBA 2019/20 season to its list.

The NBA 2019/20 season which resumed after nearly five months break occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, will be coming to your home via the ESPN channel.

ESPN a popular American channel added to the already long lineup of StarTimes Sports channels will broadcast all the games, with no fans in attendance due to social distancing requirements brought about the coronavirus crisis.

StarTimes Uganda Marketing Director, Isma Lule says basketball has rapidly gained popularity in Uganda over the years and they are excited to bring the best Basketball league in the World to Ugandans.

“Stars like James Lebron and Giannis [Antetokounmpo] are such an inspiration in the basket Ball community. The Action will be live on ESPN Channel on Classic, Smart Bouquet, and on Smartphone via the StarTimes GO App,” he said.

Only the best 22 of the league’s 30 teams are taking part. Each team will play eight games to finish the regular season and the top seven teams in each conference will advance. The final eighth seed in each conference will be determined by a potential play-in tournament before the traditional 16-team playoffs.

This season after many years, LeBron James’ LA Lakers are the outstanding favorites to win the title after occupying the top spot of the Western Conference with a 49-14 mark at the moment the games were postponed. They now stand at the 52-18 mark and still top of the conference.

The Clippers were considered favorites to win the title after they added to their ranks Kawhi Leonard and Paul George at the start of the season, and yes, they have pushed the Lakers to their limits, occupying the second spot at the moment.

The only squad with a better mark than the Lakers is the Milwaukee Bucks. Led by the Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo, they have benefited from playing in the significantly weaker Eastern Conference.

The NBA on StarTimes is a continuous assurance to customers, that StarTimes will always give their viewers the best and affordable quality sports.
