This Saturday, the 2023/2024 StarTimes Uganda Premier League title will be decided in a thrilling finale. Four teams – Villa, Vipers, Bul, and Kitara – are in contention for the prestigious championship, and StarTimes has announced that it will broadcast all the title decider games live.

SC Villa and Vipers SC find themselves in a familiar situation, having gone through a similar experience last season. Villa narrowly missed the title after a 1-0 loss to URA FC, while Vipers secured the title with a win against Busoga at St. Mary’s Stadium.

This season’s finale promises to be just as exciting, with all four top teams having everything to play for. Vipers are looking to defend their title, SC Villa are seeking to end a 20-year trophy drought, BUL FC are aiming to win their first title, while Kitara are hoping for a miraculous turn of events to claim the title.

The title race has added significance this season, as the championship could head to any of three geographical regions of Uganda – Buganda, Busoga, or Bunyoro.

“StarTimes is proud to be the lead sponsor and promoter of Ugandan football, it is our main business objective to support and add value to local content and talent. Football is one of the most premium content made in Uganda and more importantly, it employs and gives global platform to a significant number of youths in this country,” said Bruce Augus, StarTimes CEO.

StarTimes, the lead sponsor and promoter of Ugandan football, has dedicated three channels to broadcast the games live. NEC FC vs. SC Villa will be live on Sanyuka Prime, the Busoga Derby between Busoga FC and BUL FC will be live on FUFA TV, and the defending champions, Vipers SC, vs. Mbarara City FC, will be broadcast free-to-air on BBS Telefayina.

All matches will kick off at 3 PM, and all StarTimes subscribers will be able to catch the action live, regardless of their bouquet.

StarTimes has been a long-time supporter of Ugandan football, and this season’s broadcast is part of their commitment to promoting local content and talent. Through their flagship local sports channel, Sanyuka Prime, StarTimes has set a record by broadcasting 145 league matches live in a single season.

Sanyuka Prime is a local television channel exclusive to StarTimes platforms, broadcasting StarTimes UPL, selected Bundesliga matches, trendy movies, and other related sports content from around the globe. The channel is available on Channel 251 and 238 on antenna and satellite decoders, respectively.
