StarTimes Uganda Premier League will be back on Tuesday as defending champions Vipers SC face Wakiso Giants in the Wakiso derby at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The venoms who are fresh from their CAF engagements, will be pumped up hoping to collect maximum points from Sharks and continue their title defense on a high note.
With two wins in their last five games the venoms will hope to up their game inorder to achieve their 9th win of the campaign.
Vipers Captain Milton Karisa excepts the derby to be so demanding ;
“It will be very demanding, but we are aware that tomorrow’s game is very important for us continuing in the upper part of the League table,” noted Karisa.
“We are prepared to face it, knowing that we have to start the game well -because Wakiso Giants distribute the ball well, and we must be very focused before Saturday’s game against Tanzania’s Simba SC (in the Champions League).”
On the other hand, the visitors Wakiso Giants who won’t be having a number of their players will also hope to grab their first win in the second round having lost 1-0 to KCCA at home .
The Purple Sharks have been deplated by the departure of some of their key players like Owen Kasule and absence of the youngsters who are away on national duty but won’t be weakened by these factors .
With the available Sharks, they will hope to get a result at Kitende with boast of some returnees from injury.
Wakiso new team entrant Paul Willa is eager to face his former employers and comes forward to say;
“I feel happy to face my former employer just like how happy I feel to fit in at this wonderful club.” he said
“All of us as a team have what the coach gives us to play and it is what we are going to execute.” he added
Last game.
The last game between the two sides ended 1-1 at the Kabaka Kyabaggu courtesy of goals from Hillary Mukundane for Vipers and Owen Kasule for Wakiso Giants.
What would a win do?
A win will lift Vipers to second place with 30 points while fourth placed Wakiso Giants will move to third and level on points with BUL who have 28.

Vipers SC will be without forward Abdu Lumala and midfielder Olivier Osomba who suffered a knock in the hip against Horoya AC last weekend.
For Marvin Joseph Young man, he will continue to be out after he suffered a setback in his rehabilitation process.
Wakiso Giants will be without Titus Ssematimba, Ronald Madoi and Apollo Kagogwe are with the Uganda Hippos for AFCON U20 championship in Egypt.
But they will welcome back forwards Shariph Kimbowa and Frank Ssebuufu.
