MYDA FC midfielder Rashid Mpata is hoping that his exploits at the Malaba based club last season in the StarTimes UPL will land him a lucrative deal in the top flight next season.
Mpata joined the Malaba based side in 2019 and took the league by storm, proving to be instrumental for his side despite scoring one goal and providing three assists.
Despite having a splendid season, Mpata’s side MYDA FC got relegated from the Uganda Premier League. The 22-year-old feels it’s time to move on.
“After spending more than two years at MYDA, I feel it’s time to move on to a more professional and bigger team in the Uganda Premier League.”
“I want to play in the top flight so as to be able to fulfil my dream of playing for the Uganda National Football.”
He also says he has received offers from some top clubs within the country and abroad.
“I have several deals on the table from top-flight clubs but am still evaluating them to find one that best suits my career.”
Recently, rumours have linked Mpata with 16-time champions SC Villa, Arua’s Onduparaka FC and Mbarara City.
