Morocco booked a historic place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2–0 victory over Cameroon on Friday night at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

Backed by a passionate home crowd, the Atlas Lions dominated early proceedings and took a deserved lead in the 26th minute when tournament top scorer Brahim Díaz finished from close range after a well-worked corner involving Achraf Hakimi and Ayoub El Kaabi. It was Díaz’s fifth goal in as many matches at the tournament.

Cameroon showed greater composure after the break, but Morocco remained the more dangerous side.

The hosts sealed the result in the 74th minute when Ismael Saibari controlled Ezzalzouli’s delivery at the far post before firing home to spark celebrations in Rabat.

Walid Regragui’s men closed out the match with confidence to secure their first AFCON semi-final appearance since 2004, keeping alive hopes of a first continental title since 1976.

Morocco will face the winner of the Algeria vs. Nigeria clash on Wednesday as their fairytale run on home soil continues.
