Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions KCCA FC have today confirmed Uganda U23 men’s football team (Kobs) tactician, Morley Byekwaso, as their Head Coach for the next three years.
Byekwaso has been serving on the interim basis following the departure of Mike Mutebi who left the club after agreeing to have his contract (which was ending in June, at the end of last season) with the club terminated.
KCCA FC chairman Martin Ssekajja confirmed Morley Byekwaso as the club’s head coach today at the club’s offices located at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
Ssekajja remains optimistic about Morley’s appointment since he has been serving the club in an assistant’s capacity on three occasions.
“Morley understands the business requirements and demands of various stake holders at KCCA,” he said.
“On behalf of the board, we want to assure all our stakeholders that we shall be giving him the necessary support required in order for him to take this club to the next stage.”
KCCA experienced a dip in performance as they finished 4th in the 2020/21 Startimes Uganda Premier League and Morley Byekwaso is expected to revamp the team’s performance.
Morley Byekwaso has already led off preparations for the coming season with letting go of some players including; Filbert Obechan and Moses Kalanzi while negotiations with other players are ongoing to retain those who are still needed at the club, as plans to have new players also continue.
