Six days after winning the star Times Uganda premier league, SC Villa captain, Kenneth Ssemakula has officially announced his departure from the club.
Ssemakula joined The Jogoos three years ago from Jinja side Bul FC and he has been instrumental for the Wankulukuku side ending a 2-decades wait for the league.
” As my time with this incredible club draws to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your skipper and player over these past seasons”. Said the SC Villa versatile player.
He was full of praise for the coaching and technical staff elaborating how their guidance and expertise has been instrumental in their success.
“Your tireless efforts behind the scenes have helped us reach new heights and achieve our goals. I am truly grateful for everything you have done for me and for the club.” Added the former Jinja SS student and footballer.
The 2002 born Ugandan international exhibited the role played by the club chairman Hajji Omar Mandela, the board and stakeholders, Your unwavering support has been the foundation upon which our success has been built. It has been an honor to represent this club and to wear the Captain’s armband with pride.”
The former Busoga United player praised the role of their twelevth player. “And to our incredible fans, you are the lifeblood of this club, your passion, your energy and your unwavering support have been the driving force behind our success.”
“The 17th title we clinched in the 2023/24 Uganda premier league season will always hold a special place in my heart, but it is the camaraderie, the friendship and the sense of belonging that I will cherish the most”. He said on the just won trophy after a 20 year drought.
Ssemakula has received several uganda cranes call ups and he also featured in the historical Uganda Hippos (U-20) that reached the final of the U-20 Africa cup of nations in Mauritania in 2021 losing to Ghana.
