KCCA FC: club confirms Tom Ikara departure

Days after confirming Jackson Nnuda’s departure, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC has today also confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Tom Ikara.

Ikara who joined KCCA FC in 2017 failed to cement a starting spot at the Lugogo based side and was sent out on loan to Mbarara City FC last season.

He becomes the second official player to be released by the Club in the Ongoing transfer window after Midfielder Jackson Nunda was released last week.

At KCCA FC, Ikara played in the CAF Champions League and was part of the team that lifted the 2019 CECAFA inter-clubs cup and last season.

At Mbarara City, Ikara featured in 20 of the 25 premier league matches, keeping as many as 10 clean sheets and conceding 17 goals.

The former Kirinya Jinja SS (now Busoga United) goalkeeper is expected to join URA FC) in the next few days as sources close to the player revealed he has already agreed on personal terms with Sam Ssimbwa’s side.

In a more related development, midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba has also reportedly departed the thirteen-time champions.

The 2017 FUFA player of the year who joined KCCA FC in 2015 from SC Victoria University FC was among the five players whose contracts had expired at the Lugogo based side.
