SC Villa attacker Patrick Jonah Kakande walked away with three accolades at the Pilsner Uganda Premier League awards of the season, held on Saturday at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.
Kakande, who scored nine league goals and provided five assists as SC Villa clinched a record-extending 17th league title last season, was named the Pilsner Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, and Players’ Player of the Season. He was also included in the Best Eleven of the 2023/24 season.
2023/24 SUPL Player of the Season – Patrick Jonah Kakande
SC Villa head coach Dusan Stojanovic was honored as Coach of the Season, while Kakande’s teammate Ronald Ssekiganda received the Midfielder of the Season accolade.
Yunus Sentamu’s goal against Wakiso Giants at Kitende was awarded Goal of the Season. Denis Omedi was named the Coaches’ Player of the Season; the Kitara FC forward scored 15 goals. Kitara FC’s goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima was recognized as Goalkeeper of the Season, while Thomas Ikarah was noted for having the most clean sheets (15 clean sheets).
Vipers SC were the Fair Play Team of the Season, finishing with 33 yellow cards and one red card.
