Jinja SSS win the Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week trophy

Jinja Senior Secondary School were crowned Champions of the 2023 Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week after humbling defiant  Nyakasura School.

Jinja SSS won the game by 16 runs after they won the toss and opted to bat first, managing to set a score 118 runs all-out in 19.3 overs.

U-19 top batsman Pius Oloka started the party after walking in at number 4 only batted unbelievably to restore hope for the Jinja boys after the first three put out dunks.

He fell short of a half a century by 3 putting up 47runs off 25 balls before he was bowled out by Nyakasura’s Mark Ruhweza just like his Captain Joseph Baguma managed to pick up 3 wickets each for Nyakasura to force Jinja SS not to complete their first innings overs.

But Jinja SSS çame back with fashion in the second innings with Sohera Richard doing the clean-up for the hosts.

The youngster gathered 4 wickets in the game after bowling 4 overs and conceding 12 runs, helping Jinja SS clinch the title.
