Nile Special 7’s: Pirates eye overall title at the final circuit

The sea robbers of Black Pirates will hope to lift the overall National Rugby 7’s trophy at the final  circuit of Kyabazinga 7’s on the 2nd and 3rd September in Bugembe.

Pirates hold an advantage since they are top of the log with 112 points, 11 points clear of second placed Heathens.

At the previous circuit of the MilekeBorder7s held in Tororo at the Elgon view play ground, the Black Pirates lost in the final to Jinja based Walukuba Barbarians by 12–19 but remained on top.

Onto the log in third is Kobs with 99 points while at the bottom of the table are the Warriors with 30 points, Rams are in 10th with 42 while Impis are 9th with 62.

On the women’s side, just like Black Pirates, sister club Black Pearls too hold a significant lead as they also celebrate Mileke7s victory.

The Pearls are top of the log with 124 points just six ahead of Avengers whole hold 118, Thunderbirds (102) come in third with the Nile Rapids (92) in fourth.

To win the 7’s titles, Black Pirates will need to finish at the semifinals while the Black Pearls will need to atleast finish third in the last circuit.

Both Black Pirates and Perals are the reigning National 15’s champions in their respective divisions and could complete a double with victory this weekend.
