Following a morning washout, the afternoon saw intense semifinal clashes across four venues.

In the Super Final, Jinja SS and Busoga College Mwiri advanced to the finals, while Shree Sahajanand and King’s College Budo secured spots in the Plate Final.

In the Super semifinal between Jinja SS and Delhi Public International School, Delhi batted first and posted a modest 56 all out in 17.1 overs.

Jinja SS chased down the target swiftly in just 3.4 overs, losing only one wicket, and secured their place in the final with a nine-wicket victory.

This win marks Jinja SS’s consecutive appearance in the final.

Busoga College Mwiri, who won the toss and chose to bat first against Nyakasura School, struggled early, losing their key player Olipa Gerald for just 13 runs.

Gerald, the tournament’s top scorer with 543 runs, was out early.

Contributions from Mudola Edgar (24), Tigatola Abubakar (20), and Mukisa Eric (16) helped Mwiri reach 110 runs in 20 overs.

Despite Derrick Nyakahuma’s three wickets for Nyakasura, the team fell short by 33 runs.

Kasiaja Enock (15) and Badirudin Zaid (17) were Nyakasura’s top contributors, but Mwiri’s bowlers, particularly Mukisa Eric with four wickets and Okecho Jordan with three, proved too challenging.

Nyakasura, who had beaten Mwiri last year in the semifinals, could not replicate their previous success.

In the Plate semifinals, Shree Sahajanand defeated Ntare School by four wickets, while King’s College Buddo narrowly overcame Masaka Secondary School by just one run.

The 2024 Boys Schools Cricket Week finals will take place tomorrow at the Jinja SS Cricket Oval.

The Plate Final will feature Shree Sahajanand versus King’s College Buddo in a Kampala derby, while the Super Final will see Jinja SS face Busoga College Mwiri in a Jinja derby.
