The 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League has reached the business end of the campaign and the ‘run-in’ has been wild up and down the league.
After the intense flow, the Champion will be decided on Friday as She Corporate FC will play host to Kampala Queens at the MUBS Arena,Nakawa.
There’s no bigger fight than the one that gets a team’s colors on the trophy’s ribbons.
She Corporate who are having their best season in League under head coach Hassan Isa have impressed with the manner in which they win their different games however much it didn’t go well at some point winning 11, drawing 5 and loosing one in Masindi against Lady Doves FC.
The Sharks have been boosted by the different members of their squad for example goal Keeper Daphne Nyayega who missed the first two games of the campaign but managed has 10 clean sheets in the 15 she has played. We can also talk about Amina Nakato who has been solid in the whole campaign just like the rest of the back line which recently has had Stella Musubika from Kawempe Muslim added to it.
Moving to the midfield, Cissy Nantongo has been solid and has been supported gratelly by Captain Naume Nagadya who has scored some important goals including that one which leveled matters to keep then an Unbeaten run in the first round at Kabojja against Kampala Queens. Phionah Nabbumba too has been vital to reach this stage with her switch play and great set-piece technique her highlight being that free kick in the first round against Lady Doves FC at the MUBS Arena.
It would be incomplete to talk about a She Corporate team that has helped them reach this point and not talk about the front line of Grace Nasongo, Ronah Regina Nantege and Favour Nambatya who is their leading goal scorer with 10 goals this season.
All these players including some notable names that usually change games from the bench like Shamirah, Whisper Olomo and Winnie have to come with their A game in order to win on the day.
Kampala Queens on the other hand, didn’t start the season very well 2-0 loss to Kawempe Muslim(their only loss) due to a few reasons with late player signings being one of it.
The Queens who are on a 16 game unbeaten run invested wisely bringing in players like Margret Kunihira, Zaina Nandede and Shamirah Nagulya. This has helped them evolve as the season has gone on, collecting 11 wins and 5 draws just like their opponent on the day She Corporate.
Kampala Queens have different players who can change a game at any given point of the game. On form Resty Nanziri, Zaina Nandede and late addition Shakirah Mutibwa might be the most notable names at the moment but earlier in the season it was forward Margret Kunihira and attacking midfielder Shamirah Nalugya who saved the side on a couple of occasions.
Experienced coach Hamuza Lutalo will look to help the Kabojja based side complete the season with the FUFA Women Super League trophy.
Both She Corporate and Kampala Queens are both seeking for their first FUFA Women Super League trophy.
