0

Riticia Nabbosa netted the lone goal as Lady Doves overcame Record Champions Kawempe Muslim at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Monday morning to seal their spot in the final of  2020/21 FUFA Women Super league.

Riticia’ strike came at the stroke of halftime when her long range effort beat goalie Juliet Adele.

Lady Doves were a delt a blow after their best player and leading top scorer Fazila Ikwaput was stretched off after sustaining a terrible knee injury but this didn’t stop them from breaking the deadlock just before halftime courtesy of Riticia audacious long strike that spilled past the Kawempe goalie Juliet Adeke.

At the start of the second half, Kawempe were unlucky to level matters after Hadija Nandago unleashed a powerful shot which was parried  back into play by custodian Daisy Nakaziro for Juliet Nalukenge to rebound but his shot agonizingly rattled the cross bar.

Even if Kawempe Muslim were the better side in the second half, Lady Doves defended brilliantly to claim a well deserved victory and earn their second FUFA Women Super league final berth after losing to UCU Lady Cardinals in the 2018/19 finals.

They will face the winner between UCU Lady Cardinals and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club whose semi final is on right now.
