FWSL: Rines win their first game of the season, Queens maintain perfect start

Rines SS WFC got their first win of the campaign after stunning Makerere University WFC 1-2 on Saturday morning at the Makerere University Grounds.

Two goals from Yasmeen Nalukwago and Phiona Arachi helped the Bright Nyanzi coached side lift the spirits of the other players so that they can keep their 2-1 win intact.

On the other side the consolation goal for the University Ladies was scored their captain Josephine Ndagire who was returning from suspension after getting a red card in the game against Kampala Queens.

Kampala Queens kept their perfect start to the season with a 100 percent record with a sixth straight win against Olila High School, making it 6 in 6.

The game played on Sunday at a neutral ground, FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru and two first half goals from Resty Nanziri and Zaina Nandede were enough for the Queens to stay top of the Log.

This was all done in the presence of the FUFA president, Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo and Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among.

In the other game, Lubaga side Uganda Martyrs who have lost only one game this season collected yet another home win against stubborn UCU Lady Cardinals.

The game ended 4-1 with goals from Kevin Nakacwa, Latifa Nakasi, Catherine Nagadya and Sumaya Nalumu only to move to second place on the Log with 13 points, five behind leaders.

Former Makerere forward Madina Nakayi helped Asubo Gafford secure a point against Kawempe Muslim after Shakira Nyinagahirwa had givenĀ  the away side a slim 1-0 lead at Kampala Quality Playground.

The game ended 1-1 at full time, a scoreline that didn’t differ at the MUBS Arena, Nakawa as She Corporate picked up a draw at home against Masindi side Lady Doves thanks to a Joanita Ainembabazi strike.

This all happened after visitors took an early lead in the 7th minute through a Everline Nandera Kwereho after a great display by Resty Kobushobozi
