FWSL: Adong double earns She Maroons maximum points against Makerere University

She Maroons humbled Makerere University WFC 3-0 in a game played at the Luzira prisons Ground on Sunday morning.

After a goalless halftime, the hosts took the lead in the 62nd minute from Lillian Kasuubo.

Five minutes later, Jackline Adong doubled the Luzira side’s lead, later on sealing it with her second and third for the team to make it 3-0.

She Maroons currently lay in the 3rd position with 12points in 6 games while Makerere University sit in 6th with 6 points out of 5 games.

The Prison ladies will host Kampala Queens on 13th January at the MTN Omondi stadium as Makerere University play host to Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC on the same day at Makerere University grounds.

In the other game played today, Rines SS WFC made a 2-1 come back to defeat Asubo Ladies at the Kabaka kyabagu stadium.

Evelyn Nassuna opened the lead for the visitors in the 22nd minute of the game  before Nakato Patricia Nanyanzi levelled the matters, two minutes into added time.

In the 92nd minute of game, Nanyanzi complèted her brace to win it for thé Wakiso side. This result meant that Rines SS sail out of the relegation zone.

After the game, Rines SS head coach Bright Nyanzi said that this result will help his side improve;

“My players have tried to work upon what we trained during the period of one month we had for preparation.” He said

“They have tried to work atleast although we have missed alot of chances, this win will help us improve alot and grow confidence in players.” he added

“I am very convinced that in the next game they will have confidence to win the game” Nyanzi concluded

This was Rines SS first win of the season after securing two draws and three loses in the first half of the season.

Rines SS currently sits in the 8th position with 5 points while Asubo Ladies WFC are the bottom with only 4 points out of 6 games played.

In their upcoming games, Rines SS will visit UCU Lady Cardinals on 14th January at UCU grounds in Mukono while Asubo Ladies welcome Kawempe Muslim on the same day at Kampala Quality school.
