FWSL: Ayerango nets Rines SS winner against She Maroons

Rines SS came from a goal down to collect a much needed win against the prison ladies of She Maroons at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on a cool Wednesday evening.

Eva Nagaayi and Justine Ayerango got the goals for the Wakiso side, Rines SS while Jackline Adong got She Maroon’s only goal.

In a game that kicked off in entertaining style the Prison Ladies from Luzira started on the front foot with number attacks from the left through Racheal Nassimbwa.

With 18 minutes played on the clock, Nassimbwa dribbled past Florence Nalumansi to lay a good ball into the post which was initially blocked by Shakira Nalule but pounced on by 5-star Adong who gave She Maroons a 1-0 first half advantage.

Six minutes after restart, Rines SS were awarded a penalty after Lydia Najjunju brought down Yasmeen Nalukwago in the area, only for Eva Nagaayi to level matters for Rines.

Ayerango doubled the hosts’ lead in the 69th minute after a good pattern play from Amina Nababbi, substitute Phionah Arach and Nalukwago who delivered a great ball from the right to end the game 2-1.

This result meant that Rines SS secured their second win of the season, one that lifts them a place with 8 points with 3 above the drop zone.

For She Maroons, they stay third on 12 points level with Lubaga based side, Uganda Martyrs who are in 4th.

In the other Wednesday results, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga have managed to edge Wakiso Hill thanks to a 11th minute strike by Immaculate Nakanjako at the St Gerald play ground, Lubaga.
