On a rainy Sunday afternoon, the money bags of Kampala Queens edged defending champions She Corporate 2-1 away from home in the FUFA Women Super League
In their own backyard, She Corporate FC scored the first goal of game through their top scorer last season Favour Nambatya but Kampala Queens through Resty Nanziri and Shamirah Nalugya arose from the dilemma to win the tie.
Into the game
Not a lot came out of the first half of the game apart from one witnessing possessive Kampala Queens who missed a couple of chances through all the players on their forward line Zainah Nandede, Resty Nanziri and Margret Kunihira who hit the post.
All this was put on the lack of coordination on the Queens front line but after a great study of the game, Kampala Queens head coach Hamza Lutalo ejected defensive midfielder Teddy Najjuma to bring on forward Lillian Mutuuzo to add more numbers in the final third only for Shakira Mutiibwa to hold the midfield alone only to finish the first stanza in a goalless draw.
At the start of the second stanza, the Queens once again started on the front foot putting up an attack that so Kunihira get into the box only for Cissy to put out the ball for a corner that was then beautifully delivered to the box by Shamirah Nalugya only to head into Kunihira to head it home.
In a blink of an eye, Kunihira’s opener was chopped off with the referee claiming that goalkeeper Daphne Nyayenga was pushed down before the forward headed the ball.
In the 63rd minute, a Favour Nambatya deflected shot beat goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro in the Kampala Queens to put the hosts ahead only to raise the temple of the game.
Minutes later Queens striker Resty Nanziri equalized for the visitors after a ball in the box only to put the ball cleanly past goalkeeper Daphne Nyayenga’s reach.
