FUFA WSL: Kampala Queens continue to win as She Corporate lose

It was an interesting weekend of football, filled with mixed emotions of MatchDay four(4) in the FUFA Women Super League.

The football action kicked off on Friday as home team, Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club run riot against Soroti side, Olila High School putting five past the Visitors.

Kawempe’s goals were scored by from Agnes Nabukenya, Hadijah Nandago, Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Rebecca Nakato (with a brace).

This was Kawempe Muslim’s second game in this 2022/23 season after losing 2-0 in the first away to Lady Doves on the previous weekend.

On Saturday morning, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club lost their first game this season away to League giants Kampala Queens in Kabojja.

The game ended with a 4-1 scoreline after goals from Resty Nanziri who scored twice plus new signing Hasifa Nassuna who made it two in two games.

Nanziri’s two goals came 16 minutes apart, with the first putting Kampala Queens ahead in the 10th minute and second in the 26 minute. Nassuna made it three and definitely her second goal in two games to end the first half in great mood.

In the second falf, Captain Zaina Namuleme got  scored the fourth after a good ball from Nassuna in the 57th minute.

Uganda Martyrs tried to put up a fight something that didn’t help but clinched a consolation through Latifa Nakasi in the 67th minute to take her goal tally to four.

In Nakawa, defending Champions, She Corporate failed to get themselves into a better state as they continued their winless run this losing to UCU Lady Cardinals at home.

The Sharks lost the game 2-3 just to make it two defeats of the season(both at home) out of four played so far the first being against the money bags of Kampala Queens on matchday 2.

UCU’s Ashiat Nalugwa opened the scoring for the visitors with five minutes left to close the first half just before Swabra Nkomba strike twice in both goals gifting UCU with their second of the game to a 2-0 lead and pulling one back at the stroke of half time to head into the break on the back foot.

Thirteen minutes after restart, Joanitah Ainembabazi scored her first goal this season to level matters for the hosts. They tried to win, thereafter but it all didn’t work out for the sharks.

In the 77th minute, Jauharah Nabbagala made it three for UCU to silence the hosts and increase on their misery. UCU now hold onto a 100 percent record this season.

In the other games of the weekend (MatchDay 4), Lady Doves put five(5) past Rines SS away from home at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso.

Norah Alupo was the name as she was on fire, scoring a hawl (4 goals) on the day, Rashida Nankya scoring the other.

On Sunday teams that played on Friday were both back in action as Kawempe traveled to Makerere to face She Makerere only for the game to end in a one-all draw thanks to goals  Allen Nassali for Kawempe and Sharon Namatovu.

In the other game, Asubo Gafford got their first win of the season as they edged Olila High School 1-0 at the Kampala Quality Grounds.

Olila have played two consecutive away matches with a period of one day in between them.

The one and only goal of the Game was scored by Adrine Musimenta in 18th minute of the game.
