Kampala Queens maintained their grip on the Finance Trust Women Super League summit with a dominant 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Wakiso Hill on Match Day 15.

Despite a frustrating first half, the league leaders found their breakthrough in the second period, ensuring they remain in control of the title race. Meanwhile, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC also picked up crucial wins to keep their championship hopes alive.

Playing at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, Kampala Queens started on the front foot, creating several chances through Anitah Namata, Shamirah Nalugya, Peace Muduwa, and Zainah Nandede.

However, Wakiso Hill’s goalkeeper, Halimah Kasuubo, put on a remarkable first-half display, making key saves to keep the scoreline goalless at the break.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 71st minute when Peace Muduwa slotted home the opener.

Seven minutes later, Cathy Nagadya doubled the lead with a stunning strike before Zainah Nandede sealed the win in the 83rd minute.

The game wasn’t without controversy, as Kampala Queens’ head coach, Asefa Firew Hailegebreal, was sent off following a heated argument with the linesman over an offside call.

With this victory, Kampala Queens remain firm at the top with 37 points while Wakiso Hill continues to struggle at the bottom with just five points.

Elsewhere, reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC continued their chase for the top spot with a commanding 3-1 win over Rines SS WFC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Rines took an early lead in the 20th minute through a Patricia Nakato Nanyanzi penalty, but Kawempe responded swiftly. Agnes Nabukenya converted from the spot to level the score before halftime.

Mebel Adong then gave Kawempe the lead early in the second half, and Shakirah Nyinagahirwa sealed the win with her first goal of the season following a long injury layoff.

The result keeps Kawempe in second place with 31 points, six behind leaders Kampala Queens, while Rines drop to seventh with 18 points.

Meanwhile, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC edged She Corporate 1-0 at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe, thanks to Brenda Munyana’s 72nd-minute strike. Munyana capitalized on a rebound after Latifah Nakasi’s header struck the crossbar, ensuring a hard-fought victory.
