FUFA Big league: Ssimbwa to Kickstart life at Kitara FC against Northern Gateway

Kitara FC is set to maintain lead at the summit of Big league as they face Northern Gateway away at the Getway stadium, Lira city on Thursday.

The Royals will be starting a new life without their top striker Patrick Kaddu who ntted 15 goals in 15 games and went on to join Gor Mahia, Kenya in the January window.

The Hoima side will hope to make a double over the Northern Getway FC having won 4-0 in the first leg round a game in which Patrick kaddu scored a hat trick with Edson Agondeze sealing it in October at Kigaaya play ground.

Head coach Sam Simbwa will be making his debut in a competitive game after being unveiled recently by the club.

In the build up to the game, Ssimbwa pointed out Kitara’s struggle away and promises to put things together;

“We have only managed to pick one victory in an away game against Lugazi United 2 months ago but we’re piercing things together to make sure we improve our display.” he said

Kitara FC will also be boasted by their January signings in Paul Mucureezi, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Farouk katongole and George Ssenkaba who are expected to make their debut today after successfully training with the team.

Kitara currently sit on top of the table with 31 points in the 15 games played, winning 9, drawing 4 and losing 2.

On the other side, Northern Gateway are currently seated at the bottom of league with only 10 points in the last 15 games played winning 2, drawing 4 and losing 9.

Kitara FC welcome back Farouk Yawe after he recovered from a shoulder problem and Ronald Kayondo after he missed 3 matches due to a knee injury.

For Jasper Aheebwa, he will miss this game as he serves his suspension after accumulating three yellow yards.
