FUFA Big League: Kitara roar back to secure pulsating draw against Mbarara

Kitara FC rallied from two goals to secure a valuable point in the FUFA Big League at home against Mbarara City at Kigaaya Playground.

Jude Ssemugabi scored twice to give the Ankole Lions the lead before John Kisakye also scored twice for Kitara late on in the game for the scores to be tied by the end of the 90.

With just 8 minutes on the clock, Ssemugabi gave Mbarara City the lead following a blind pass before the lanky forward doubled the lead in the 78th minute after being the first to react on Farouk Yawe’s spilled shot.

Kisakye, who had earlier came on for Edson Agondeze pulled a goal back for Kitara in the 85th minute before putting the scores level by netting from spot from arguably the last kick of the game.

With a hard-fought point, Kitara maintain their top spot on the FUFA Big League log with five games left to play .

Mbarara City, meanwhile drops to third spot on the log with 45 points in 25 games. They are just two points above Police FC, who have played a game less.

In the other game played on Thursday, NEC also came from behind to defeat Northern Gateway 2-1at the Gate stadium. The Kampala based side now moves second on the log with 47 points.
