FUFA Big League: Kitara collect first win under Ssimbwa

Ssimbwa’s Kitara FC edged Lugazi Municipal in the FUFA Big League at Kigaaya Grounds on Thursday evening.

In a game where the western side recorded the lowest turn up since the start of the campaign, David Kasaija was thehero on the day as his effort made the difference between the two sides.

The victory gave Kitara and Ssimbwa a sigh of relief after their recent meetings alongside their animated fans.

With their different series of attack on the day, Kitara nearly got the lead as early as the third minute through Maxwell Owachigui’s effort was blocked.

Ronald Kayondo also came close to scoring in the opening half but his effort went wide before the 15 minutes break.

In second half, apart from Kasaija ‘a headed ball from a Moses Sseruyide delivery, Kitara didn’t have alot of chances to kill the game like in the first but managed to hold onto their lead.

For Police FC, they put up a great show lure Calvary 4-0 loss inorder to go third behind NEC on the log and Kitara who have a better goal difference.
