The Fortebet Real stars sports monthy awards organizing committee will be rewarding different athletes in conjunction with Fortebet for the month of September on Tuesday 3rd October at Lazio restaurant in Lugoogo.
The organizing committee led by reknown journalist Isaac Mukasa and Kakooza Ramzan nominated a total of fifteen(15) athletes from five sports disciplines with each category carrying three.
All the winners from each category will be rewarded for their excellent performance with an accolade courtesy of a Jude Colour Solutions branded accolade and Cash prize.
Five of the categories selected are Rugby, Badminton, Football, Ludo and Kabadi;
In the category of Rugby, all the three players who were nominated In Aaron Ofoyrwoth, Adrian Kasito and Isaac Masangazira helped Rugby cranes side 7’s sides to finish third at the recently concluded Rugby Africa Men’s 7s in Zimbabwe.
In Badminton Gladys Mbabazi, Husna Kobugabe and Brian Kasirye all represented Uganda at the recently concluded Kampala International Future Series where Kasirye took home two Gold Medals in the Mens singles and Mens Doubles with Muzafaru Lubega.
For Husina, she also won two bronze medals, one with in the Women doubles alongside Gladys Mbabazi and in the Mixed doubles with Muzafaru Lubega.
However, Kasirye having taken the gold awards on October 1st yet they rewarding the month of September.
The Kampala international future series may not be considered and focus will turn to the Benin international where Husina kobugabe and Gladys mbabazi won a gold medal in women doubles
For Kasirye, he settled for silver in the Men’s singles just Husina Kobugabe went a head to win a bronze medal in the Singles.
Among the nominees in Football category is Masembe George who scored the leveler against Buweekula that helped Bulemeezi get into the semifinals of the 2023 Masaza Cup edition
Kenneth Kimera on the other side of Gomba scored three goal in September and one for Wakiso Giants against UPDF FC while Denis Omedi who has had a bright start with Royals of Kitara netting two goals against UPL giants SC Villa and Gaddafi FC.
For Ludo, Uganda Doves outstanding players who have helped Uganda defend the Africa Ludo Cup of Nations have been nominated for the monthly award.
These players include Emmanuel Mubiru who won gold in the individual tournament hence Winning the Most Valuable Player Award at the ALCON just like Betty Nagadya who also won gold in the individual tournament.
For Henry Mayanja, his efforts with the team helped them win the Championship at large.
Olivia Nalubega, Jovita Lubango, Mubarak Wandeka have been nominated for the category of Kabadi .
