Fortebet Real stars Monthly awards: Kimera wins first ever award

Gomba and Wakiso Giants forward Kenneth Kimera won the Fortebet Real star Monthly award for the month of September at Lazio Restaurant on Tuesday.

Kimera alias KKMagoolo won the award after a great chunk of hard work scoring three goals for 2023 Masaza Cup semifinalists Gomba in September and the other one for Wakiso Giants against UPDF FC.

The youngster washed away competition from Bulemeezi and Gadaffi forward George Masembe and Kitara striker Denis Omedi.

Kimera has had quite a journéy since his day from the under age teams of the Rising star academy in Gayaza to Kibuli Secondary School, Kyadondo, Gomba and now Wakiso Giants will have the believe that this is just the start.

After the awarding Ceremony, a happy Kimera labeled his award as a motivator saying ;

“Am really happy to win this award, it’s my first time, it will motivate and will always remind me to go back, work hard and add on what I have done so that I can come back next month.” he said

“I have many goals to achieve as Kimera and first in this edition am leaving the Masaza since have played there for three years and going to the Super League to concentrate on Wakiso Giants but in the near by future will want to play professional football.”he added and concluded 

In the other four disciplines rewarded, Husina Kobugabe was able to beat Brian Kasirye and Gladys Mbabazi in the category of Badminton.

Husina shone in the Benin international where she won a gold medal in women doubles alongside Gladys mbabazi and also brought home a bronze in the singles.

For Rugby, Isaac Massangazira beat off competition from Kob’s Adrian Kasito and Heathens Aaron Ofoyrwoth after his contribution to the Rugby Cranes 7s team that finished third in the Mens Rugby 7s Africa Cup Zimbabwe.

In Ludo, Africa Ludo Cup of Nations Individual category Most Valuable Player and Gold medalist Emmanuel Mubiru edged both his Uganda Doves team mates Beth Nagadya and Henry Mayanja.

Olivia Nalubega put the icing on the cake topping the Kabadi category after compressing the pressure from Jovita Lubanga and Mubaraka Wandeka.

The Fortebet Real Stars Monthly awards led by reknown journalist Isaac Mukasa are the longest serving and consistent awards in Uganda put up with an intention to motivate  Sports men and women in the Country.

The awards that are sponsored by a betting company known as Fortebet and Prize branding company, Jude color solutions expected to return in November while rewarding the best of October.
