ForteBet Real stars Awards: Wakiso Giants duo to take on Sentamu


The November Fortbet Real Stars Monthly Awards are here. They be act as the end of year round up Awards and shall be held at Roof Top, Garden City on Saturday.

This Awards are always put in place with an intention to recognize the outstanding performers in various sports disciplines of every Month throughout the year.

This time round, we are going to have competitiors across six sports disciplines (Football, Basketball, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Ludo) and a special category named Real Super Star.

This category will have who have won the most Real Star Monthly Awards throughout the year and after everything is put together a winner among Brenda Ekone (Basketball), Jacob Kiplimo (Athletics), and Posiano Lwakataka (Rally) will take the award home.

In football Vipers SC striker Yunus Sentamu has been nominated alongside Wakiso Giants FC’s Ibrahim Kasule and Titus Ssematimba.

Sentamu was involved in the Venoms’ seven games unbeaten streak in November that saw the Kitende side win six and draw one hence collecting 19 points in the month.

In this period, the talisman scored six goals, a hat trick in the 4-0 win over UPDF, brace, in a convincing 3-0 victory against Maroons and bagged one before he went off injured against SC Villa.

For Kasule, he scored three well spread goals in three games and assisted twice in November netting first November goal in 1-1 draw with Vipers.

The second in 2-1 against Villa at Wankulukuku and third in 3-2 win over Express FC a performance that has got him competing with the big boys.

Ssematimba on the other side, was involved Uganda Hippos team that defended the CECAFA crown and qualified for U-20 AFCON, Sudan, a tournament where he was named Most Valuable Player following his exquisite performances across all games.

The forward scored twice at the tournament in a 2-0 win over Tanzania, a winning goal in the final during a 2-1 win over South Sudan and also contributed to Isa Bugembe’s first in the same game.

In Basketball Titus Lual Odeke, Fayed Bbaale, and Jimmy Enabu will be competing for the same Award having helped City Oilers qualify to THE 2023 BAL for the first time in history.

The two in Titus Lual and Fayed just joined the side which is famously known as the Oilers machine but have put up outstanding performances at the Elite 16 in South Africa.

Titus Odeke put up 11 points to impress against Madagascar’s Club Omnisports Police National (COSPN) in their Group B opener at the Elite 16 .

Fayeed Bbaale was another player who player his first game for the Oilers at the Elite 16 but his master piece show was portrayed when he scored 12 points, five rebounds and as many assists in the final game that sent the Oilers to BAL against Burundi’s URUNANI.

Jimmy Enabu too was in the same contingent that helped City Oilers qualify. Putting up as many points as he can in all games.

In the other Categories, Godfrey Nsubuga will battle Joseph Owinya-Al, and Meron Kyomugisha in golf

Collins Batuusa, Lucky Akello, and Shafik Byamukama will see who win the Hockey Monthly Award

And in Netball, Sandra Nambirige will take on both Viola Asingo, and Zam Seera

For Ludo, it will be a tight call for the gentleman and Lady in Emmanuel Mubiru, Jimmy Mulondo and Beth Nagaddya since they were all part of the team that won the World Ludo Championship in Nepal and Dubai.

Each winner will take home a hefty prize cash courtesy of sponsors Forte Bet and Jude Colour solutions.
