First ever Scrum Down Sevens Cup to be played this December



Students from various schools will face off in Scrum down Sevens Cup tournament with intention of contributing to vulnerable students. 

Event: Scrum Down Sevens Cup 2022

Date: Thursday, 8th December

Venue: Kitante Primary School – Kampala city

Charge: shs. 10,000

The ingural Scrum Down Sevens Cup is going to be a one of a kind event as students from different schools come together with Eagles rugby club to do a charitable event.

This will be a one-day event that will start at 9am in the morning with entertainment and a couple of activities such as Play station games, Pool table and more, headlined by Rugby.

Entertainment will come in from students of Gayaza High, Nabingo, Nabisunsa, Namagunga among others. On the rugby side, the students that will participate shall come from schools like Ndejje SS, Namilyango College, Makerere College, St Mary’s College- Kisubi (SMACK)

Hana mixed, King’s College – Buddo, SPENA, St Lawrence – Creamland, Greenhill, Light Academy, Kitende, London College, Kyambogo College, Rainbow International, Jinja SS and Viena College complete the Line-up.

The winner will take home Shs.1,000,000 and later on crown the first ever Mr and Miss Scrum down who will each bag Shs. 50,000.

There also will be medals to be awarded on the day and these will include the Ultimate Eagle, Top try scorer, Most Valuable Player, Fastest player, Best coach, All star team, smartest player, best referee, School captains, strongest player, fastest team and both the fastest female and male fan.

This event will be aiming at raising school fees for those pupils between the age of 6 and 17 years who are not able pay their dues at Kitante Primary School with each pupil paying Shs. 153,000.

Ruffle tickets of shs. 2000 will be sold at the event in order to help raise scholastic materials of the vulnerable children and the winner will receive shs. 50,000.

About Eagles Rugby Foundation. 

The Eagles Rugby Foundation is a non-profit organization started in August 2022 by the Eagles Rugby Club and a group of partners highly involved in social and educational causes, especially those of children and youth.

The aim of the foundation is to pay school fees is beyond many families, especially where parents have no jobs, are incapable of working, or the child has lost both parents since many children are left out of school, which can expose them to social problems including criminal behaviors, drug abuse etc


Make Eagles Rugby Foundation a recognized and referential organization in ensuring that all families in Uganda are able to attain equal education and social opportunities for their children, in spite of their incomes.


The Foundation seeks to give children an opportunity to attain an education, improve their physical wellness and promote team work; through a Sports Academy.
