Diaspora: Valuable playing time for Uganda’s foreign based players over the weekend

League action resumed over the weekend with a number of Ugandan professional footballer abroad in action for their respective sides across the globe.

Most of them got valuable playing time on the pitch while a few didn’t make the match day squads

This is how a couple of Uganda’s foreign based players fared over the weekend.

Starting off in USA, Aziz Kayondo featured fulltime for Real Monarch as they lost 4-0 to North Texas in the MLS NextPro.

Steven Sserwadda was an unused substitute for New York Red Bulls as they lost 1-0 to Orlando City in Major League Soccer.

Edward Kizza came on in the 57th minute for Pittsburgh Riverhounds as they lost 2-0 to Memphis 901 in United States League

In England, Jordan Obita featured for 86 minutes as Wycombe Wanderers lost 2-1 to Shrewsbury Town in the Football League One.

Ibra Sekagya was out as his side Dulwich Hamlet drew 1-1 with Farnborough in English National League.

In Scotland, Bevis Mugabi featured full-time for Motherwell as they came from behind to defeat Aberdeen 3-2 in the Scottish Premiership.

In Azerbaijan, Kizito Luwagga featured fulltime for Sabail FC as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Turan in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya featured fulltime for Rizespor as they drew 1-all with Keciorengucu in TFF 1.

In Iceland, Elvis Bwomono featured fulltime for IBV as they defeated Fimleikafelag Hafnarfjardar 4-1 in Iceland Urvalsdeid.

In Vietnam, Godfrey Kizito featured fulltime for Nam Dinh as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Song Lam in Vietnam League 1.

In Serbia, Pius Obuya came on in the 66th minute for Stefan Illic as Radniciki Mitrovica drew 1-all with Indiha in Prva Liga.

In Denmark, Moses Opondo featured for 63 minutes as his side, AS Horsen drew 3-al with Midjylland in Danish SuperLiga.

In Sweden, Ritah Kivumbi was out as her side, Mallbacken IF lost 3-0 to Gamla Upsala in Swedish Elitettan.

Alexis Bbaka featured full-time for Umea FC as they lost 4-3 to Hammarby in Swedish Division 1.

In Tanzania, Khalid Aucho featured for Young Africans as they defeated Simba SC 2-1 in the Community Sheild.

Alfred Leku featured for Zesco United as they drew goalless with Azam FC in an international friendly match

In South Africa, Jamal Salim Mugoola kept a clean sheet as Richard Bay defeated Sekhukhune United 1-0 in DSTV Premiership.

Denis Onyango was unused on the bench as Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Kaizer Chiefs 4-0.

While Ismaïl Watenga didn’t make it to the Matchday squad as Marumo Gallants drew 1-all with Golden Arrows.

In Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme featured for Viktoria Zizkov as they defeated Hradec Kralove in the Czech 3 Liga.
