It was a mixed weekend for Ugandan foreign-based players abroad in the different leagues across the globe. Bashir Mutanda and Jordan Obita found the back of the net for their sides, while Denis Onyango saw red after keeping a clean sheet. This is how Ugandan professionals fared over the weekend.

Starting off in South Africa, Denis Onyango started for Mamelodi Sundowns and recorded another clean sheet as they defeated Sekhukhane United 2-0 in the DSTV Premiership. In the same game, the former Uganda Cranes skipper was sent off for a foul in the 85th minute. Despite the red, Onyango has now kept 8 clean sheets in 10 games.

In the GladAfrica Championship, Jamal Salim featured for Pretoria Callies as they defeated Polokwane 1-0.

In England, Striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru came on in the 91st minute as his side, Middlesbrough FC secured a 2-1 victory over Huddersfield in the English Champions

In the English league one, Jordan Obita was on target for Wycombe Wanderers as they drew 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday. Obita’s strike came in the 65th to level matters.

In Scotland, Bevis Mugabi featured full-time but was yellow-carded for Motherwell FC as they lost 3-0 to Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

In Germany, Herbert Bockhorn was an unused substitute for VFL Bochum as they defeated Freiburg 2-1 in the Germany Bundesliga.

In Denmark, Moses Opondo came on in the 81st minute for Mad Jensen as his side, Odense Boldkub defeated Nordsjaelland 2-0 in the Danish SuperLiga.

In Sweden, Isaak Ssewakambo featured for 70 minutes for Ostersunds as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Goteborg in the Swedish Alaskan. His counterpart Ronald Mukiibi was absent due to an injury.

In the Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme featured full-time as his side Victoria Zizkov lost 2-0 to Varnsdorf in the Czech Republic National Football League.

In Israel, Kizito Luwagga got introduced in the 65th minute for Hapoel Nof Hagalil as they lost 2-1 to Sakhnin in the Israel Premier League.

Still, in Israel, Fahad Bayo played 73 minutes, while Timothy Awanyi featured full-time for their side, Ashdod SC as they defeated Hapoel Jerusalem 1-0.

In Serbia, Pius Obuya featured for Kabel Novi Sadi as they drew 1-all with OFK Bačka.

In Algeria, Allan Okello started and helped Paradou secure a vital 1-0 victory over Tlemcen in Algeria Ligue 1.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Taddeo Lwanga was absent as his side, Simba SC defeated Red Arrows 3-0 in the first leg of the final qualification round. Joseph Ochaya was subbed off at halftime as his side, TP Mazembe secured a 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants. Deogracious Ojok played the last 5 minutes for Tuskers FC as they drew goalless with CS Sfaxien at home.

In Zambia, both Shafik Batambuze and Hashim Ssempala featured for Kabwe Warriors as they defeated Nkwazi 1-0 in the Zambia Premier League. Keziron Kizito featured for Buildcon FC as they lost 3-2 to Zesco United.

In Swaziland, Bashir Mutanda was on target for Mbabane Swallows as they defeated Tambuti 2-0 in the Swazi MTN Premier League.

In Rwanda, Ben Ocen featured for Masaze FC as they lost 1-0 to Kinyovu SC. Both Emmanuel Okwi and Muzamir Mutyaba started on the bench for Kiyovu.

In Egypt, Allan Kyambadde was an unused substitute for El Gouna as they defeated Eastern Company Club 2-0 in the Egyptian Premier League.
