Club football continued last weekend and a host of Ugandan internationals were in action for their respective sides – This is how Ugandan professionals fared over the weekend.

Starting off in Israel, Winger Luwagga Kizito netted his first goal for his new side, Hapoel Nof HaGalil as they defeated Maccabi Netanya 3-1 in the Israeli Premier League. Kizito came on at the start of the second half and netted in the 89th minute of the game to extend his side’s lead. Meanwhile, on the other end, both Fahad Bayo and Timothy Awanyi featured full-time for their side, Ashdod SC but fell prey to Hapoel Haifa, losing 3-1.

In England, Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru featured for 62 minutes for Middlesbrough FC who lost 2-0 to Coventry in the English Championship.

In the Football League One, Jordan Obita featured for 88 minutes as his side, Wycombe Wanderers drew goalless with Oxford United, while in the Football Non-League, Elvis Bwomono was still out as Southend United lost 3-1 to Halifax Town FC.

In Ireland, Melvyn Lorenzen came on in the 71st minute for De Vries in the Sligo Rovers team as they secured a 2-0 victory over St. Patrick Athletic in the Ireland Premier Division.

In Scotland, Bevis Mugabi featured full-time as Motherwell defeated Aberdeen FC 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership.

In Denmark, Robert Kakeeto didn’t make it to the matchday squad as AaB Aalborg secured a 3-2 victory over Viborg FC in the Danish SuperLiga.

In Sweden, Isaac Ssewakambo played full-time as his side, Ostersunds FK narrowly lost 1-0 to Sirius in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Ronald Mukiibi was out due to an injury.

Ritah Kivumbi featured for 64 minutes as her side, Mallbackens IF lost 3-0 to Kalmar in the Swedish Elitetan.

In the Czech Republic, Isaac Muleme featured full-time as his side, Victoria Zzizkov suffered a 4-1 loss to Vyskov in the Czech Republic National Football League.

In Portugal, Edrisa Lubega Torres was absent from the matchday squad due to an injury as his side, Estrella Amadora lost 3-2 to Rio Ave in the Portuguese LigaPro.

To the CAF Confederation Cup, both Mathias Kigonya and Nicholas Wadada played full-time as Azam FC came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Horseed SC in the Preliminary round. Shafik Batambuze and Hashim Ssempala also featured for Kabwe Warriors as they secured a goalless draw away from home against Madagascar’s CFFA.

In the CAF Champions League, Khalid Aucho was absent as Young Africans squad as they fell 1-0 at home to Rivers United.

In the USA, Mustafa Kizza came on in the 65th minute for Brault Guillard as his side, Montreal Impact lost 1-0 to Nashville in the Major League Soccer. Another Kizza, Edward also featured for 61 minutes and had an assist to his name as his side, New England Revolution lost 2-1 to New York City.

In the United States League, Mike Azira featured for 79 minutes as New Mexico United lost 1-0 to Austin Bold.

Heading to South Africa, Denis Onyango was back in goal and kept a clean sheet as Mamelodi Sundowns secured a 2-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership. Still, in PSL, Isma Watenga was also in goal for Chippa United as they lost 1-0 to Real Kings.
