Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have continued their rebuilding process with the capture of experience defender Derrick Ngoobi.
Ngoobi joins the Red Eagles from Soltilo Bright Stars and has put pen to paper on a two-year employment contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The 24-year old left the Stars at the end of last season, having opted not to renew his marriage with the club after running down his contract.
“I come with experience to the young Express FC squad, I am delighted to be here the environment is good and I am looking forward to winning trophies with the team, be part of it’s history and I promise the fans a great game” Ngoobi told Express media after having putting pen to paper.
Ngoobi, who had spent four season at Bright Stars has also previously featured for Bulemeezi Ssaza team, Kikyuusa and Luwero United.
At Express, he is expected to fill the void left by Murushid Juuko, who earlier left the club for Vipers SC.
He also becomes Express’ ninth addition this window after Benjamin Gakumba, David Lukwago, Hassan Mubiru, Marvin Oshaba, Kada Bitakazibwa, Andrew Kaggwa, Anwar Mustafa Ntege and Yusuf Ssozi.
The club has also captured former Vipers winger Allan Kayiwa who is expected to be unveiled next week.
