After choosing to bowl first, Uganda kept Hong Kong, China under control for most of the innings.
Natasha Miles top-scored with 45, while Yasmin Daswani added 39, but the pair found it difficult to break free against a disciplined Ugandan attack.
Sarah Walaza was the standout bowler, conceding just 15 runs in four overs and claiming a wicket.
Consylate Aweko and Immaculate Nakisuuyi also picked up a wicket each as Hong Kong, China finished on 108 for four.
Uganda’s chase had few anxious moments. Captain Janet Mbabazi gave the innings early momentum with 24 off 24 balls before Proscovia Alako took charge.
Her composed 38 from 43 deliveries, featuring six boundaries, kept the Victoria Pearls firmly in control despite a couple of wickets falling in the middle overs.
When Alako departed with only 10 runs still needed, Esther Iloku and Immaculate Nakisuuyi calmly guided Uganda home.
Nakisuuyi struck two boundaries in an unbeaten six ball 11 as the Victoria Pearls reached 112 for four with seven balls to spare.
It was a professional all round performance from Uganda, who will want to carry on the momentum into their next match as the road gets tougher with Namibia and Tanzania ahead.
The Victoria Pearls return to action on Wednesday when they face hosts Namibia in their second match of the Quadrangular Capricorn Series.
