Synergy FC are now top of the Katonga Group in the Buganda Regional League following a deserved victory over descending army side Young Simba FC at Kasana Playground, luwero.
The Masaka based side had hastened into a 2-0 lead after goals from Matovu Shafic and Kazibwe Musa, but Young Simba reduced the deficit with a goal from Ochero Moses who struck in the 30th minute. However, Kayondo Henry restored Synergy’s 2-goal cushion in the 32nd minute.
Synergy FC started the game with 9-strong willed men who played for the entire 90 minutes with other members of the team reported to be unavailable for the game.
Being less in number it did not bother the Masaka based side who faced a fully assembled Young Simba side.
Shafick Matovu fired home from 8 yards after a corner kick, before Musa Kazibwe could notch in the second from a deflected long rage shot which sent Young Simba’s goal keeper side ways.
Young Simba pulled a goal back when Ochero Moses overturned from the 18 yards to curl the ball into the top left corner.
Synergy effectively made the result certain when Tervin Kyeyune took on 5 defenders to lay a low pass to Henry Kayondo who sent in a long shot for the third.
Synergy FC takes on Kiyinda Boys FC on Tuesday 7th January 2020 in their last home game of first round before they visit Standard High School Zana on Sunday 12th while Young Simba will be on the road to Buwambo United FC on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, Lugazi Municipal FC were condemned to a 3rd loss of the season to Luwero United FC at the Kasaala Playground in Luwero.
Bright Kone’s first half strike was enough to register Luwero United’s 4th win of the season from eight games.
