BUL FC head coach Alex Isabirye has said he wants to become the first tactician to help the Eastern Giants win the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The gaffer made these comments during the pre-match conference held on Thursday morning ahead of the Stanbic Uganda Cup final on Sunday.
BUL FC will play StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC in the final to be held at Masindi Municipal Stadium.
This is a repeat of last year’s final where Vipers humbled BUL 8-1 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
” I want to become the first manager to help BUL FC win this prestigious cup. This will be after beating the league champions Vipers in the final on Sunday” Isabirye said before adding;
” We have prepared well for this game for close to two weeks and
we are optimistic that we can secure a victory though it won’t be easy for us”
“But I have no pressure because I know anything can happen on Sunday so my players are very much ready for this game unlike last season ”
BUL beat Bundimasoli, Busoga United, Bright Stars, SC Villa and Booma FC en-route to the final.
Their opponents, Vipers are seeking for their first double in their history after winning their fifth SUPL title a few weeks ago.
The Venoms moved past Kigezi HomeBoys, Kalongo, Kataka, Wakiso Giants and Mbarara City to make it to the final.
This season’s Uganda Cup winner will take Sh50m while the beaten finalist will bank Sh25m courtsey of Stanbic Bank and Kansai Plascon.
