Just after facing Algeria in 2024 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, Uganda Cranes will once again to face African Giants in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers draw held on Thursday.
This all comes about after Uganda landed Algeria in Group G along with Guinea, Mozambique, Botswana and Somalia.

Note that Uganda Cranes lost all their last two AFCONQ ties against Algeria, 2-0 in Algiers and 2-1 in Cameroon(home away from home).
In the Qualifiers only the top team in the Group will qualify direct to the FIFA World Cup that will be held in United States, Canada and Mexico.
For second placed teams across the nine groups, only the best four will have a chance to compete in a play-off.
All this will be played over ten matchdays and twelve Incase of a playoff in the next two years, starting with 13-21 November 2023 and closing on 6-14 October 2025
For the play offs, they will take place from 10 to 18 November 2025.
