Nile Leopards led the way as they dominanted proceedings in Group A of those teams playing all their group stage games at the Jinja Cricket Oval in the 2023 Batball X tournament.
In their maiden group where they played the Eastern Buffaloes, they put up 107/3 in 10 overs, a score the opponent (Eastern Buffaloes) failed to chase mananging 62/3 only to win by 45 runs.
But in the second game, the Eastern Buffaloes came back stronger to calm the Northern Elephants humbling them by a 16 runs win after putting up a target of 97 runs a score the Elephant failed to match.
In the third and final game of the day, the Nile Leopards maintained their momentum as they set a 110/4 score for the Northern Elephants who could only manage 54/8, a score that was not good enough since they lost by 56 runs.
In Group B which is playing at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, Central Rhinos have lived up to their fans expectations after they Rhinos started their day with a 74 runs win.
This win was against a resistant Western Bulls side. Credit was awarded to their best player and Captain on the day Christopher Kidega who impressed the revealers with 46 runs.
In their second game as they played Rwanda, once again put up a strong performance as they humbled the guests, beating them by 11 runs with Ali Balidawa replicating his display in the first game, picking three wickets.
The Central Rhinos are now top of group B groups with maximum points.
While this tournament is being played, it is under intention of creating awareness for the silent killer “Hypertension” which many call Pressure and there are doctors doing free check ups.
Games will continue tomorrow in both group A and B at their respective Ovals.
