Substitute Kafumbe Masuudi has won Busiro their first Masaza Cup title after scoring the winning goal in their deserved 2-1 win against Buddu at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
In a game where Busiro went ahead through Isaac Ofoyrwoth and ruled the proceedings, Buddu levelled matters at the stroke of halftime through Denis Kalanzi but did not go well at the end.
The 2019 finalists are deserved winners after a strong run that included leaving the group stages and eliminating Ssingo on aggregate in the semifinals.
Coming into this game, Buddu had hope they could become the first team to defend the Masaza Cup title since its start in 2004.
It’s the third time, Buddu are Champions in six finals having lost the three in the previous times.
Busiro goes home with 12 million Ugandan Shillings as title winners and Buddu comes up in second with 9 million Shillings.
Despite not having His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi at the final, there is atmost hope that he will be present at the opening ceremony of will the 2023 Masaza Cup edition that will be hosted by the Champions.
