The 2020-21 StarTimes FUFA Big League season will commence on Thursday 18th March 2019. This was confirmed after the fixtures were officially released after a long wait.
Unlike in the previous season, this season’s league will have only 16 teams, eight in each pool that is the Rwenzori and the Elgon groups.
The Rwenzori group comprises of Luwero United, Tooro United, Nyamityobora, Kigezi Homeboys, Proline FC, Water FC, Ndejje University and Tile Terrazzo.
Proline and Tooro United who were relegated from Uganda’s top-flight league will begin their campaigns at home to Kigezi Homeboys and Water respectively.
The Elgon group has Arua Hill, Calvary , Paidha Black Angels, Maroons , Kiboga young, Kataka , Black Power and Gaddaffi.
Maroons, who were relegated from the StarTimes Uganda Premier league will begin their promotional bid against Paidha Black Angels in Luzira Prison playgrounds while promotional favorites, Arua Hill will take on Black Power at the Barifa grounds.
The best placed team in each group will automatically qualify to join the topflight league and will be joined by one other team from the play offs.
The first round will climax on Thursday 8th April.
