Yasin Nasser and his navigator Ali Katumba of Moil Rally Team were declared winners of the recent Mosac rally ahead of Omar Mayanja/Hussein Mukuye on a 27-microsecond lead.
The announcement of the even winners was delayed after complaints against the standards of Yasin’s car came up, stemming from Arthur Blick’s who were alleging that the champions’ car, a Subaru GVB had non-homologated spare parts.
Homologation means to approve or confirm officially – a process of certifying or approving rally cars in relation to the regulatory standards and specifications, such as safety and technical requirements and these are granted by the FMU.
Unfortunately, the protest was overruled because Yasin’s car exceeded the protest procedure of 30mins given to any team before the release of final official results.
Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba winning the Mosac rally was a positive result for Moil Rally Team as they went on to clinch the NRC tittle ahead of Arthur Blick in the second position.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the Blick Racing Team and all the competing crews for a very spirited fight in what will be remembered as one of the hardest championship decider.
said Yasin Nasser after being declared the winner of the Mosac rally in Kapeeka during the weekend.
