  • Active players rarely give their opinions especially about sides they’re much eligible to play for, even when the media points microphones and cameras at them, this always ends in a calmly reserved response that protects the badge and player from going bare knuckles with administrators.

Well, Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola isn’t that breed.

He has regularly been vocal about players’ welfare on the national team and that has landed him into some trouble, he was allegedly part of the ring leaders when Cranes players made a sit down strike before a round of 16 tie against Senegal during the 2019 AFCON in Cairo, Egypt.

This resulted into players instantly receiving 6,000 USD in allowances which had delayed. But costed him his national team place not being called up until 4 years later for an AFCON qualifier against Algeria.

Just when it looked like he was being reinstalled  into the National team setup, Jamal has stung again with a an X post last night

“U see the figures people embezzling public funds and wonder why u be paying taxes even ????????

Yet when u serve the country u have to wait for months to get paid or even forget the allowances and bonuses naye nga Bitama.” – Jamal on X

The custodian who plays club football in South Africa with Richards Bay FC seemed to have some support from other active players, Rogers Kassim Mato liked his post and a comment from Dissan Galiwango saying “Genda maaso Salim.” which translates for go on Salim.
