We let the law take its course – KCCA FC reacts on Odumegwu arrest

KCCA FC has released a statement following the arrest of their Nigerian striker John Edumegwu who is under police custody for allegedly holding 3 persons against their will in his residence.

Odumegwu was arrested by police on Sunday 8th December 2019 on account of confining 3 girls who are students at MUBS for around ten hours at his apartment in Mutungo-Bina.

The club has come has today come out and made a statement on the issue promising to let the law take its course.

We have learnt that out player John Egbonou Odumegwu is under Police custody is in police custody for alleged unlawful confinement of persons.

The matter is being handled by the police and we shall let investigations take course. The club shall not comment on this matter untill it is resolved.

The 25 year old striker is being detained at Jinja road police station awaiting conclusive investigations that could see him released on bail or tried in the courts of law.

 

The striker last played for KCCA FC away from home in a game which they lost 2-1 To Mbarara City.

John has so far Scored one goal for the club and that was during the 3-1 win against Maroons FC at the Luzira Prison grounds, out of the 8 games has has played.

If the Nigerian striker is found guilty, he faces being deported back to Nigeria after signing with the defending champions at the start of this season.
