Shortly after receiving a five million Ugandan Shillings boost from Bank of Baroda on Thursday, the Uganda Badminton Association (UBA) has unveiled Hema Water Beverages Limited on Friday.
The water company has offered 200 cartons of water (650ml bottles) extending their partnership for the two Championships straight until 16th July 2023.
Kigula Robert Sales and Marketing Manager of Hema Water Beverages Limited revealed that they came on board because badminton is a big sport and Hema is also a big company, believing that the sport will help in promoting their brand to public and ready to deal with the sport even in the following events.

“As Hema Brevarages, we are happy to patner with UBA and as you know where there is sport, there is water and Badminton approached us and they wanted us to work together” said Kigula
“It wasn’t the first time since we worked together since last year and the sport has started getting popular in the country just like Hema who have been popular so for that we decided to help them as we help eachother”
“We are together and even if what we have given is not enough, to the association our doors are open for them to come and say we are under-estemeted or miss-calculated because that gap shouldn’t be there and if it’s the case we shall be able to close it.” he concluded
Hema is now the second partner for Badminton in this ongoing Championship at Lugogo Indoor Arena, the first was Bank of Baroda who injected five million shillings into the tournament.
The Para-badminton tournament kicked off on Tuesday and will climax on Sunday 9th July with a total of 25 countries which include; Uganda(host), Senegal, Togo, Mozambique, Zambia, Tunisia, Spain, Singapore, Scotland, Nigeria, New Zealand, Ivory Coast, Korea, Italy, Israel, India, Egypt, Czech Republic, Chinese Taipei, Cameroon, Brazil, Benin among others.
This tournament will act as a qualifier for the 2024 Paris Paralympic games.
