Vipers’ Karisa biggest winner at Pilsner SUPL Season Awards


Vipers SC star forward and captain Milton Karisa has been crowned as the 2022/23 Pilsner StarTimes Uganda Premier League Player of the Season.

Karisa beat SC Villa striker Charles Bbaale and Maroons FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale to the award.

The forward matched to the podium three more times at the glamorous awards ceremony held on Thursday evening at Sheraton Hotel, Kololo.

Karisa took home the Most Assists and Coaches Player of the Season gongs, and was also named in the SUPL Best XI of the Season

He deserved all his accolades as he scored nine goals and had joint-most assist (8) to help and skipper Vipers to title win. He also played all the games in the process.

Relegated Blacks Power FC was given the Fair Play Award for their good discipline last season where they only picked up 30 yellow cards and no single red.

Allan Kayiwa took the Top goalscorers award for netting the most goals in the league (13) to beat off Charles Bbaale.

Tamale took home the Best Goalkeeper Award for keeping the most cleansheets in the league (13) and winning the most man of the month awards (7)

Alex Isabirye was named the Manager of the Season, to beat off Villa’s Jackson Magera and Maroon’s Mohammed Ssenfuma.

Hillary Mukundane got the defender of the season ahead of Gift Fred while Tibita Laban got the midfield of the Season ahead of Wakiso’s Lawrence Bukenya and KCCA’s Saidi Mayanja.
