StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC are set to complete the signing of Nigerian defender Princewill Biweribo Tarabina, The Touchline Sports understands.
The 23-year-old is expected to join the Venoms from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Plateau United, with the move set to bolster Vipers’ defensive options ahead of the new season.
Before joining Plateau United, Tarabina spent four years at Bayelsa United, a club he joined as a teenager from Dynamic Soccer Academy in 2020.
Tarabina is known for his composure, tactical intelligence and versatility, with the ability to operate both as a centre-back and a left-back.
He is expected to fill the void left by Rogers Torach, who departed Vipers after four successful years at the club to join Algerian top-flight side CS Constantine.
Tarabina’s versatility could make him a valuable addition for head coach Denis Lavagne as Vipers prepare for another demanding campaign, including their continental commitments.
If completed, the Nigerian defender will become Vipers’ sixth signing of the ongoing transfer window, following the arrivals of Cesar Lobi Manzoki, Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere, Gabonese goalkeeper Loyce Mbaba and Congolese defender Jacques Mangoba.
The Venoms are strengthening their squad as they seek to defend their domestic crown and make an impact on the continental stage.
