Victoria Pearls win inaugural Kenya Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series


Victoria Pearls (Uganda Cricket Female team) scopped the Kenya Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series after drowning hosts Kenya by six wickets at the GymKhana in Nairobi Kenya .

This was the inaugural tournament and the finals were played on Wednesday 21st December 2022.

Proscovia Alako was the woman of the final day for Uganda as she hit 30 runs helped by Immaculate Nakisuyi who put up 18 and Stephanie Nampiina 14 to hand Uganda victory with 51 balls untouched.

Kenya who went down thrice in the finals were boasted by Daisy Njoroge who put 21 runs on the scoreboard to give her side hope but it was all not enough to conquer the Pearls.

After the finals, Victoria Pearls’ Janet Mbabazi was named the tournament Most Valuable Player after collecting 116 runs and nine wickets in the tournament.

The Kenya Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series was played for ten days by four nations (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Qatar) in a round ribbon format for 10 days.

The tournament is going to be happening every year with an intention of giving women national teams more test games.
