UPL: Vipers bounce back with statement win

Vipers Sports Club bounced back from a 3-1 loss against NEC with convincing 3-0 result over Express at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Thursday evening.

A brace by team captain Milton Karisa and a one from Asiwome Fumador were the difference for the Venoms on the day.

Karisa struck in either half scoring just 21 minutes into the game before adding his second with 15 minutes left on the game only for Fumador to seal it in the 85th minute.

Notably, there were changes to the team that played against NEC on Sunday as Vipers’ head coach Serbian tactician Nikola Kavazovic brought back defensive patnership of Hilary Mukundane and Rogers Torach.

Annest Ankunda and Yunus Ssentamu were the other two who came into the side.

On the other hand, Express made three changes to the team that beat Mbale Heroes 2-1 at Hamz Stadium with Ronald Muwanguzi, John Asiimwe and Alpha Thierry Ssali all starting.

In their next games, Vipers will visit Lugazi in Najjembe on the 26th September as Express lock horns with Maroons at Nakivubo on the 28th September

Other results of the day saw NEC edge Kitara FC 1-2 in Butema just like UPDF’s 1-0 win over Lugazi FC in Bombo.
